Our Story

How it all started...

Settler Days
StoneBridge Community Church stands on a rich history of community and faith.
The congregation was originally founded in 1858 (just four years after the first rough log cabin was built by the Mantor brothers and E.P. Waterman in the village) as the Congregational Society of Mantorville. It joined the Hubble House, the post office, a store and mills to serve the community.

The First Congregational Church of Mantorville
As the town grew, “the Old Stone Church,” built cooperatively by the Methodist and Congregationalist churches, functioned as a hub of the community.  The church, now the First Congregational Church of Mantorville, continued her faithful witness to the town as carriages gave way to cars, wars were fought, economies boomed and busted, and generations made their lives in the town.

Answering the Call...

In 2020, First Congregational Church realized God was calling the church to revitalize.  The congregation committed to follow Him boldly and prayerfully into a new era of ministry to Mantorville. God’s breathing new life into the church as we revitalize, renovate, and reach out as a bridge for our community to Christ.

Where we are headed...

In the summer of 2022, the body voted to change the name of the church to StoneBridge Community Church and to take on a new mission and vision. We look forward to returning to the days in which we served Mantorville and the surrounding community as a hub for gatherings and activity. As we work toward revitalizing our space, we look for ways to serve in the community, families, and businesses that make Mantorville and Kasson a great place to call home.  We hope to be a welcome home for new believers and old. Come and see what God is doing at StoneBridge Community Church and throughout the Mantorville area!
